About Margarett McBride
I was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan.
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Major: Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience
Minor: Community Action and Social Change
I was the President of the National Council of Negro Women at the University of Michigan (2017-18)
I am a PhD student in Developmental Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study factors that lead to and diminish resilience for low income, minority youth.
I have facilitated workshops for youth in community centers, youth in after school programs, and adults that recently were released from prisons.
I am the oldest sibling with 3 younger siblings.
I grew up in poverty and I still do not have financial stability.
I have struggled with my weight for years.
I love art (creating and appreciating).
I am still learning. I will always be learning.
