HIV Monologues

HIV Monologues is an an event hosted by the National Council of Negro Women that aims to educate, advocate and destigmatize stereotypes associated with those afflicted by HIV.

In the year that I lead NCNW, I created a HIV-Monologue that included active learning and was collaborative with the Prison Creative Arts Project and the Black Student Union. Prior to the event I lead a social media campaign that focused on myths and facts related to HIV and the Black community. Materials and photos from HIV Monologues can be seen in the slide show. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions related to programming HIV Monologues.

Women with a Purpose

Women with a Purpose is an annual event hosted by the National Council of Negro Women. This event features a panel of black women making a difference in a variety of professional fields. As Black Women, it is important that we see ourselves in various industries and set ourselves up to reach our goals. I created the even so that participants could enjoy a catered lunch while they listen, learn, and network. Panelist shared their stories and a Q & A followed to allow students to talk to panelist in a more intimate setting. The year that I planned the event panelists were in a variety of careers fields such as law, business, kinesiology, biomedical engineering, education and more. Materials and images from the event can be seen in the slide show. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions related to programming Women with a Purpose.
